The Wimmera River stretches 278km, meandering from its source in the Pyrenees Mountains, through the Wimmera plains and finishing up in Lake Hindmarsh near Jeparit.
Horsham was built upon the Wimmera River and it now offers a range of fitness activities along its banks.
A network of running tracks is a great for a morning run or walk. Each Saturday morning there is a popular 5km Parkrun event along the river.
The river is popular for rowing, fishing and for picnics with playgrounds for the kids.
